Just a few notes on the Journey if you are just joining me. The Tarot Cycle is a demonstration of personal evolution using the Keys of the Tarot, in harmony with the lunar cycle, and displayed here at Lifencompass as an offering. I felt like this year of all years, was the perfect time to take initiative in my life and demonstrate that journey in readings, poetry, art, and doing. The Tarot Cycle is a reading but not a forecast of the "future," the Tarot in this case are used as personal, alchemical, tools of transformation. Sign posts of influences and energies. I draw on the personal and the collective to create the monthly forecast, and it is encouraged to pull the monthly card and draw your own cards in a reading to see what influences you may be experiencing. Maybe you can see something in my tarot spreads but you will probably receive more if you likewise draw the cards and contemplate them. All things connected, lots of possibilities, I hope that my words and poetry inspire others to find within themselves the light, energy, and focus to light the way forward for their own self.
That is the Goal of the first part of the Tarot Cycle, The Hermit as an archetype, finding our own inner light and bringing it out. Leaving the life we are expected to live and finding the life we are meant to live. You can read more about the Tarot Cycle, intent, and catch up here at Lifencompass.
On the heels of the fool... I bring you Cycle Three: The Priestess.
Water and Light
Welcome back to the Tarot Cycle, The third moon of this month has begun to wax. Out of darkness, reflecting light in the night sky. Illumination grows. This morning, amidst candles and smoke, working with a new tool (thank you Stang & Cauldron) and journeying into the spiritual sky I get the following.
Remember that the Priestess is the channel, becoming the wisdom. She is not the light she is the energy of light on water, and that is warmth. She is not the reflection she is the dazzling interaction of energy entering stillness. She is dark and light, she is the Priestess. The drawing of cards came in three rays, twice. I have included them in two images below...
The Journey in and out had a few notes before the message of the Priestess began to form, ending in a Zen moment of Om, contemplating an image. Water, water everywhere. Anniversary of the earthquake in Japan, water rushing in. Energy like lightning in rifts across the land, crackling and striking. Flowing, water, I am up and over all things and cars and homes, swept away.
There is an air of sadness, endings, and the loss of life. This is not our experience but through knowing it is our shared experience, and with distance it thins and becomes a mist, an ephemeral thread of fate that wraps the land, a common virtue, compassion for the lost. In the vision a woman stands on a hill overlooking all things, she reminds me of the statue of the Jesus in Brazil, overlooking the water. Two figures overlooking the sea. She is Goddess-like, milk mother, she is pointing beyond all things to an image of light on water, the golden dance of sun, the pale grace of the moon, on the ocean, in the sea. In that instance I see, as I began this post, the priestess is no thing but the energy of things, or the vessel for the energy of things, still and dynamic, open and radiant, if we open our senses to perceive it.
The Priestess is the third passage in the sacred circle, the Fool has prepared and leaves the world he or she has known behind and entered the sacred, becoming the Magician. The Magus then follows the forms, creates the ritual space, calls upon the energy. Enter now the Priestess the music begins, horns, drums, dulcimer, smoke and light.
Then Stillness, we sit with the power raised. We do more than just cast a reflection, tho in some ways this is a good observation, we are really radiant with the power and so are less of an image recast and more of a child divine, magickal like all things are, and so the same. This is becoming the sacred flame, exposing the sacred template within us, dazzling and radiant at the soul that is not "I" or "me" but "us" and "all things."
Priestess is wisdom and knowing.
There were several major influences in this spread. This has been the norm for the drawing of cards this year. In one cast we see the Empress, the Sun, Moon, and the Hanged Man. These cards drop in two waves, (first image) radiance, the Priestess. What I see is the gathering of cooperative forces that make the energy possible for (1) personal spiritual flowering, or (2) the expression of that inner flower in work, art, craft, relationship... meaning in what we do. I also see a nod by the energy of the Priestess as the woman looks towards her future self, the Empress, as an embodied being of the earthly powers, blooming.
This is a message to look inside at on my goals and my course through life towards them, possibly my energy or tone and what I am personally radiating.
What I am radiating and emitting is creating the tone and experience of my life.
(See previous post Mitakuye Oyasin: Musing on Relationships, and the meditation that in included there, Defining Our Frequency, at the end of the post).
The first wave says, draw in the energy, in cooperation with the harmonic forces at this time to continue to manifest the happiness that comes of a living, flowing, creative life. Do I see the "harmonic forces," are the hands that are working as one, one of them mine, focused on the wands of the personal power, or the collective strength, beauty, and joy of the many. Dancing in unison. Drawn by passion and song?
Cooperate with you success and happiness. Know that it is not achieved alone.
The second part of the reading has the "reflection" of the Priestess and this is where it can become instructive. She is reflecting the Moon, so hidden paths are revealed to her, things unspoken and internal are unfolding, a sign that I am on a proper trajectory, or that I have the energy here to make the corrections for myself; whatever and however needed can be seen through observation. Make notes. (second image).
There is also a message here about the structure of my internal life and how one can see the order or chaos, in our lives-lived.
Empress, the Herald of next months Tarot Cycle appears in the place of the Divine Feminine, Yin, and in her fullness her reflection casts three swords. Contrary to what might be perceived as a negative with swords I will note as energy only, not a positive or negative because I perceive it as a reflection. It is my perspective, and I ask, what is the vocabulary I am using to describe the moment, project, path, point, etc.
The message I see here is the internal fullness is ripening, all the while the events of life may not have quite caught up yet. The day in The Sun is coming but the Priestess's forecast for material happiness is still coming together within, its ripening like grapes on the vine, or as the Hanged Man reinforces the stillness of the Priestess, he says....
Not yet. Everything in its time. Do not spite patience with anxiety, do not push for NOW or insistence for conformity to personal will just because you want it when you want it. Nature has her way, Empress advises that fullness is happening but birth is still to come.
There is something rich and beautiful that is growing here and a little patience, self-reflection, and grace in the moment can go a long way.
